5-Day Research Impact Challenge (IUPUI University Library Fall 2022)

In this online asynchronous workshop, you will get hands-on practice on tools and platforms to enhance the impact and visibility of your research or to discover research in your field. For this 5-day challenge, instructions and tasks to complete each day will be provided through email, to allow you to work at your own pace. For the first time, there be two tracks - one for authors and one for readers.

The challenge starts on October 31, 2022 and you contact us with any questions.

Learning objectives for authors:      

  • Use ORCID and Google Scholar to make it easy for readers to find your work.
  • Preserve and share your works with IUPUI ScholarWorks. 
  • Use citation databases to choose where to publish your works.
  • Make effective use of social media platforms to increase your audience.

 

Learning objectives for readers:

  • Use citation metrics in scholarly databases to find scholarship in your field.
  • Use citation metrics in scholarly databases to find highly cited papers and influential journals in your field.
  • Use scholarly profiles (ORCID, Google Scholar, etc.) to find authors in your field.
  • Use social media platforms (Altmetric, Twitter, etc.) to discover authors and works in your field.
